Wikipedia and Facebook

Wikipedia gives a good summary of what Facebook is. If I was trying to find a social networking site wikipedia would give me good information to start with and learn more about Facebook, if I am not already familiar with it. The site also includes information that I found interesting that I did not before, like how Facebook only uses banner advertisements that are somehow related to Microsoft. Useful information from this page are the legal issues regarding Facebook since it gives the gist of legal implications due to facebook. The Wikipedia site has many authoritative sources that range from executives to magazines. The site also has many unreliable sources that come from random people that are just trying to add information to the site. Overall the wiki page for Facebook serves as a good starting point for people who are interested in getting a Facebook account, but I would recommend to just get a Facebook account and to learn as you go along. According to the discussion board not all the information of the Facebook wiki is accurate since countries mentioned that ban Facebook don't actually block it (e.g. Iran). Other controversies over this page is that it's biased since it seems to be made by a Facebook user just trying to promote Facebook.
