Obama's Inaugural Address

In his speech, how does Obama persuade people to believe in and follow him?

In his speech Obama persuades people by pointing out many problems that is wrong with our economy. Then he points out that our economy is strong and he makes the audience feel like they are a part of the solution by saying by them showing up they are ready to make a change for the better. He then says that it is the time to press forward and to put away our troubles for the common good. By saying that we as a people will work together it does not mean necessarily to follow him, but to do it as a group effort so we all feel involved. He then points out that the founders of our country that pushed and struggled to make our great country, so that we may continue like they did to reestablish our country. By doing this it makes people feel more involved to try harder to make our country prosper in a changing society. Also it makes us feel that since it was possible in the past to make a great country, it is possible to do it again. His voice is also a major factor to his persuasive power. When he tries to make a point he begins to speed up his speech and raise his volume so that the audience will awaken, or he softens his voice so that you have to listen more intently. By using variations in his voice it keeps his speech more interesting so people are more likely to listen. The main points he uses though in order to persuade the people is by relating the past to the present to show how much we have prospered and struggled. Thus showing that we must try harder to achieve our once prosperous state so we can prove the future how much we have overcome.

I'm a bit skeptical in the commenting on my peers work since, I feel that opinions are not that convincing or impacting. I do like the new classroom though since it is more spacious, and looks nicer. ...
